When Pastor Kyle arrived at Boulder Mountain Community Church in November 2022, the congregation was at a crossroads. The church had lost its sense of vision and momentum and while there wasn’t any financial debt, there was plenty of “tech debt” and deferred maintenance holding them back. “We realized that one of the biggest barriers to growth was our facilities,” Pastor Kyle shared. “We had to start rebuilding trust and vision before we could take any major steps forward.”
That rebuilding began with small but tangible wins. The leadership team focused on following through with what they said they would do — fixing the roof, installing new carpet, remodeling spaces, sealing the parking lot, removing a run-down trailer, and cleaning up the property. Each project helped restore hope and confidence within the congregation.
“Every time we completed a project, it was like putting another deposit in our leadership trust account,” Pastor Kyle explained.
By November 2023, after a two-day leadership retreat, it was clear what God was calling them to focus on next: facilities. The team identified their greatest need; space to grow and reach more people. Out of that clarity, The Next Generation Project was born, encompassing four faith-filled initiatives to guide the church over the next two years:
As the campaign unfolded, the church began to see not just financial momentum, but spiritual transformation. People gave for the very first time. New guests arrived on Commitment Sunday and joined in generosity. One donor gave a $200,000 gift that allowed the church to pay cash for their architect. Others shared stories of how stepping out in faith led to unexpected blessings — like new jobs or raises just days after making a commitment.
The results exceeded everyone’s expectations. Over two years, Boulder Mountain saw $1.2 million in commitments, double their three-year projection of $600,000.
When asked why they chose to partner with INJOY Stewardship Solutions, Pastor Kyle pointed to the combination of relationship, accountability, and structure. “The consultation call was so helpful and informative. The cost was reasonable, but what really stood out was that INJOY would walk with us for two full years — not just through the campaign. Having face-to-face visits and ongoing support made a huge difference.”
For Boulder Mountain, the biggest benefit was accountability. “Without INJOY, it would have been easy to delay or lose focus,” Pastor Kyle reflected. “Their project management tools and Basecamp structure kept our team on task so we could finish strong and on time.”
He also praised INJOY Consultant Frank, who guided the church through every step of the process.
“Frank was extremely helpful! He was available, responsive, and encouraging. His visits were invaluable to keeping us aligned and confident.”
Today, Boulder Mountain Community Church stands renewed, not just with a vision for the future, but with the faith to step into it.
