A Different Kind of Building Season

For the leadership of Faith Baptist Church, the decision to move forward was not simply about constructing a building. It was about discerning what God was already doing and choosing to join Him in it. Having previously experienced a rural church building project that was paid for as construction progressed, the leadership understood that this next season would be different. Faith Baptist Church was no longer operating in a small town context, and the realities of permits, costs, and growth made it clear that wisdom and outside expertise were necessary. Attendance had consistently pressed past the 80 percent capacity threshold, creating limitations for ministry and causing the church to cycle through people. At the same time, there was a growing conviction that what God was doing was far bigger than what human effort alone could accomplish.

Seeking God First

From the beginning, the focus was spiritual rather than financial. The leadership of Faith Baptist Church believed that God does not simply call His people to build, but to seek Him fully. Drawing from 1 Chronicles 28 and 29, they were convinced that when God moves, revival comes first and provision follows. Throughout the campaign, the church experienced deep spiritual fruit. Many members began seeking God with greater sincerity, asking difficult questions about obedience, surrender, and trust. People met with leadership to talk through what revival looked like in their own lives and whether there were areas God was calling them to address.

Equal Sacrifice, Not Equal Giving

A key theme that emerged was the connection between financial commitment and spiritual commitment. The leadership taught that Scripture points not to equal giving, but to equal sacrifice. As a result, many people stepped into financial faith for the first time. Some who had never tithed before began putting God first financially. Others searched through their possessions, bringing gold, silver, and other valuables as acts of obedience and worship. People returned to the altar, some for the first time in years, as the church experienced renewed spiritual movement.

A Response Across Generations

The impact was visible across generations. College students joyfully took on additional jobs so they could participate in what God was doing. Senior adults stood quietly at vision boards, reflecting on what could be and praying about their role. Families gathered around dinner tables to seek God together and ask what obedience looked like for them. When the public commitments were gathered, the response exceeded expectations. The total commitments surpassed what had been projected as an optimistic outcome, and the first fruits giving represented a strong portion of the total, even during a season of economic uncertainty.

Doors That Had Been Closed

Soon after the commitments were made, God began opening doors that had been closed for many years. Long standing property needs were suddenly met, providing solutions that removed previous barriers and created new ministry opportunities. For the leadership of Faith Baptist Church, this confirmed a core belief that God honors movement. When His people step forward in faith, He meets them with provision and clarity.

Faith Baptist Church did not simply take a step toward a building. They stepped into revival, unity, and renewed confidence that when God leads, He also provides.
