So many pastors have the misconception that capital campaigns are all about money, but they don’t have to be.
Fundraisers are about money, but a good capital campaign is all about Jesus.
More specifically, the primary goal of a capital campaign should be for your people to experience Jesus at a deeper, more intimate level than they ever have, not the dollar amount they can give.
A great way to allow your church to experience Jesus in a deeply personal way during a campaign is to take them through a daily devotional that does three things:
It unites them around a common vision.
It asks them to reflect on their relationship with Jesus.
It asks them to pray about what He’s calling them to do to further His good news through your church.
That’s what one of our partners did for their church.
They chose the theme Imagine to rally their church around Ephesians 3:20 and the vision of IMAGINING greater things for their lives and their church.
They created a 21-day devotional to prepare their people’s hearts to discover the immeasurably greater plans God has in store for them, and they rolled it out 21-days before their commitment Sunday.
Over that period they lead their people to pray and reflect on four key areas of walking with Jesus:
Repentance
Sacrifice
Vision
Listening
Their goal was to unite their entire church on a spiritual journey where they asked God to plant incredible imaginings in their minds for the role He’s asking each of them to play to further His Kingdom through their church.
They hoped that as they looked at what God has for the future of our church, their people would discover what He has in store for them.
After our team read through this devotional, we wanted to make sure we shared this great resource with you – completely free!
The Imagine Devotional is an incredible 21-day spiritual journey you can walk your church and your people through.
We hope it blesses you and allows your people to experience Jesus at a deeper, more intimate level.
